Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA)

GeoSky, LLC performed monthly construction progress aerial photography of the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) reservoir being built by the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The project engineer required us to produce a geo-rectified ortho-image of the entire project (27.5 square miles) on a monthly basis which was designed to be the world’s largest free standing reservoir.

GeoSky successfully completed 20 consecutive monthly aerial missions - collecting, processing and delivering the Color 2 foot Resolution Aerial Mapping between October 2006 and May 2008.

Each monthly mission was successfully completed by GeoSky working against the challenges brought on by the weather and smoke from regular scheduled burning of sugar cane fields surrounding the project.

The Aerial Mapping was used by the Contractor’s Engineering and Survey departments to calculate and track the enormous area of clearing and excavation under construction.
